Meet The Barn Owner & Instructor
Caitlyn began her journey with horses at the age of 7. She started taking lessons at a local lesson barn that Alice Taft owned and operated. There she learned the basics of good horsemanship and riding. Alice always taught that the care of the horse was just as important as the sport of riding and Caitlyn has taken this on in her own lesson program.
When Caitlyn turned 11 her parents gifted her a young 2-year-old Arabian mare bred by a local Arabian farm. This was when Caitlyn learned that she really enjoyed working with and teaching horses.
During her high school years, she was a catch rider for several local barns and trainers. Riding many different breeds of horses built her confidence and grew the skill set that she now uses in her lesson and training program.
When she turned 14 she learned about The United States Pony Clubs. Inc and quickly took to their policies in the care and riding style. In just 4 years Caitlyn was able to achieve her traditional C3 certification and from here she started focusing on teaching and training full-time in the sport of Eventing and Dressage.
Caitlyn has experience teaching children from 6 years through adulthood. Her true passion has always been to work with new horse owner that has little experience and to work with them to build confident horse owners and riders.
